Festival Phone Tips

Hitting up any music festivals this summer? Wondering which Irish acts you should be checking out? We’ve put together a list of 6 must see Irish acts at some of this year’s top festivals.

Young Wonder

An electronic pop group duo from Cork that broke through in mid 2012, after the release of their self-titled debut EP and stand-out single, ‘To You’. They’ve continued to create great music and have supported acts like Alt J.

We Cut Corners

Producing short songs on drums and guitars, featuring hints of blues-rock, start-stop/rock-pop these guys are sure to keep you entertained and jumping about.

Check them out at: Indiependence & Electric Picnic

A band of four brothers from Cork, making their debut appearance with an explosive performance at Electric Picnic. Since then, they’ve occupied the No.3 spot on iTunes chart with their Waiting EP.

Young Derry singer/songwriter SOAK aka Bridie Monds-Watson is described as the ‘epitome of raw. Untamed talent’. If you’re a fan of Damien Rice we’re sure you’ll enjoy her style.

Le Galaxie

An Irish electronic 4-piece, bursting with cyber-synths, pounding techno and sonic guitar wizardry.  This all sounds pretty heavy but they’re  some fun, easy listening. If you like what you hear you’re in for a treat as they’ve recently signed up with Universal Music Ireland and are set to release a new album.

Jape is Richard Egan’s solo project that hit it big in 2008 when they were covered by Raconteurs and won the prestigious Choice Music Prize. Jape’s music is a mix of meticulously crafted lyrics with an upbeat electronic rhythm that will be a treat for any festival goer.
